In general, road noise is quantified in decibels (dB) and is referred to as a yearly average. What does noise reduction mean, and how does 3, 6 or even 10 dB really sound like? These examples show noise reduction of motorway noise reduced by 3, 6 and 10 dB.

0 dB means that the noise is undamped.
