Auralisation: Motorway compared to highway at different distances

Highway and motorway noise at a distance of 30 and 100 metres

Listen to highway and motorway noise. The highway noise represents a two lane road (15,000 vehicles/24h at 80 km/h) The motorway noise represents a four lane motorway (59,000 vehicles/24 h at 110 km/h).

The example shows differences in traffic flow and speed at a distance of 30 and 100 metres.

Note: Due to the differences in traffic flow you should listen to the sound files continuously for some time – don’t make frequent jumps between the two sound files.
